"Protect the lives of the public" Chemical sellers told

Konongo (Ash) May 25, GNA - Chemical sellers have been advised not to sell unsafe and inferior drugs to their customers to help protect their health.

They have also been urged not to allow untrained persons who lack basic knowledge in chemicals to man their shops as a means of curtailing the increasing spate of drug abuse.

Mr. Suprakash Mandel, the Northern Sector Assistant General Manager of KinaPharma Limited gave the advice at a day's training workshop organized by the company for chemical Sellers in the Asante Akim North and South Districts, at Konongo on Tuesday.

Participants who numbered over 100 were briefed on the dosages, composition, and benefits of the Company's newly manufactured products such as Aspanol A,D P and Kinafen Express, also had the opportunity to be educated on the effective handling of customers.

Mr. Mandel noted that lack of adequate knowledge about products of the company necessitated the workshop designed to equip participants with the required knowledge to serve their customers better.

He said the programme was geared towards ensuring the safety of the final consumers of Kinapharma's products and therefore, condemned the practice whereby the wrong people were delegated to attend such workshops to defeat the very purpose for organizing the workshop. Mr Iddrisu Ayuba, Ethical Manager of the Company In-Charge of the Northern Sector in a presentation entreated the participants not only to sell unsafe drugs to the public but also endeavour to desist from dispensing drugs, which have been known to be misapplied.

Mr. J.E. Quansah, Chairman of the Asante Akim North Chemical Association commended the company for the laudable initiative to enhance their operations and called for more of such programmes in the near future. 25 May 06
