NGO donates used cloths to Swedru hospital children's ward

Agona Swedru, Nov 24, GNA - The Agona Needy Care, a Swedru based Non-governmental Organisation (NGO), has donated used clothing and pampers worth five million cedis to the Children's Ward of the Swedru Government Hospital.

Presenting the items, Mr Harouna Fousseni, Executive Director of the Organisation, called on the people with the means to help the vulnerable to alleviate their suffering.

He assured the authorities of the Hospital that the donation was not going to be a nine-day wonder, adding that, another donation would be made to the Male and Female wards to supplement their efforts to cater for the patients.

Mr Sulemana Kukudje, Field Director of the Organisation, expressed the NGO's interest in children's affairs and stated that it would extend support to other needy people in future. He said the NGO was to establish an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Agona Asafo to train Basic School children and school dropouts.

He noted that Nana Kobina Ayensu III, Tufuhene of Agona Asafo, had released 10 acres of land for the NGO to go into farming. Ms Adorsu Jessie, a Matron of the Hospital, thanked the NGO for its gesture and called on others to emulate the shining example. Ms Mary Snyper, who is in-charge of the Children's Ward appealed to the NGO and philanthropists to provide the Ward with oxygen, sucker machines and stands for infusion to facilitate delivery.
