Mortuary Workers threaten another indefinite strike

Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana(MOWAG) has threatened to embark on another indefinite strike soon.

The workers say its employers, Ministry of Health and other allied partners have refused to engage them in salary negotiations, hence their decision.

Earlier this month, the association backed down a similar decision after the Fair Wages and salary Commission invited them for negotiations.

But the Association in a release has stated it’s left with no option than to strike now until their demands are finally met.

“There has not been any sign of negotiation. We think that some people are still conspiring to drag our feet. We shall embark on a strike. We are not sure when but we will communicate clearly to the public and the media. This strike is going to be serious…We will not be intimidated or bullied around as if we do not know what we are doing. We are tired of stories,” President of the Association, Edward Mensah Akpakudi told Accra-based Citi Fm.
