In a significant boost to maternal healthcare in the district, the Manager of the Kpandai National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Biyam Barnabas, has donated 720 bottles of multiple micronutrient supplements (MMS) to the Kpandai ECG Hospital. The donation is aimed at supporting the health and well-being of pregnant women.
The presentation, which took place at the premises of the ECG Hospital, underscores Barnabas's profound commitment to improving health outcomes in the District. The micronutrients are essential for addressing nutritional deficiencies in expectant mothers, promoting healthy fetal development and reducing the risk of pregnancy-related complications.
Remarkably, this benevolent act comes less than two months after Barnabas assumed office as the District NHIS Manager. This swift initiative is a clear indicator of his dedication to the people of Kpandai and his proactive approach to leadership.
Speaking during the brief ceremony, Barnabas emphasised that the well-being of mothers is fundamental to the health of the entire community. "A healthy mother is the first step towards a healthy nation. Supporting maternal health is not just a responsibility but a necessity.
This donation is a token of my commitment to the people of Kpandai and a precursor to the broader vision we have for strengthening healthcare delivery under the NHIS in this district," he stated.
The staff and management of the Kpandai ECG Hospital received the items with immense gratitude. The Medical personnel in charge acknowledged the critical importance of the supplements, noting that they will directly contribute to improving antenatal care and better birth outcomes for countless women and their newborns.
"This generous donation comes at a crucial time and will significantly aid our efforts to combat malnutrition among pregnant women," the Superintendent said. "We are encouraged by Barnabas's partnership and look forward to more collaborative efforts that prioritise the health of our community."
Community leaders and residents have praised the new NHIS Manager for his love and vision for the district, expressing optimism that this gesture marks the beginning of a new era of enhanced healthcare accessibility and quality in Kpandai.
