Herbalists asked to send their products to Food and Drug Board for testing

Mankessim (C/R), Dec. 8, GNA - The chairman of the Mankessim branch of the Ghana

Federation of Traditional Herbal Medicine Association, Mr Adam Afedzi has appealed to

herbalists to send their herbs to the Food and Drug Board for testing before selling them to the

public. Mr Afedzi made the appeal at a meeting of the Association at Mankessim. Mr Afedzi who is also the Director of Liberty Herbal Clinic at Mankessim, advised the

members to prepare their medicine under clean environment. At the meeting, the members unanimously agreed that any member found to be under

alcoholic influence during working hours should be suspended and his membership card

withdrawn for a period of three months. The offenders would also be made to provide two plastic chairs to Association. The members also agreed to operate a "Herbal store" at Mankessim for sale and advertising

of their products.
