HOGFE Foundation donates medical equipment to Korle bu Teaching Hospital

Accra, May 27, GNA - HOGFE Foundation, an international charity organisation on Thursday donated assorted medical equipment worth $480,000 to the Korle bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. The 1-40 footer container load of equipment comprised 37 hospital beds, operating bed, delivery bed, ECG, incubator and five weighing chairs. Rt. Rev. Dr. Bishop Vincent Albert Duodu Boateng, President of the foundation who handed the equipment to the medical authorities said the items were donated by public-spirited people in Stuttgart, Germany. "What you are witnessing today, is the expressed loved of the people of Stuggart, Germany who donated the items to HOGFE Foundation through its international branch," he stressed.

Professor Afua Hesse, Director of Medical Affairs of the hospital said the medical facility was accepting the equipment on behalf of all patients. She described the donation as "very thoughtful" and expressed the hope that other organisations would emulate the example. Mr Hans Winkler, Deputy German Ambassador said the gift, which would improve on medical care at the hospital, was a reflection of the active solidarity between Ghana and his country. He said the gesture would also deepen bilateral relations. HOGFE aims at helping to improve upon the health delivery system of Ghana, education pursuit and extends a hand of rescue to widows, orphans, the poor and the unemployed. Last year the organisation made a similar donation to Tema General Hospital. 27 May 10
