Veteran Football Administrator in the country Nana Fitz says the ones destroying the senior national team, the Black Stars of Ghana are Coach Kwesi Appiah and Abedi Pele who both happen to be former players of the National Team.

According to the renowned football Administrator, the two had issues with each other over the Captainship of the team in 1992 when the then Head Coach, the late C. K Gyamfi stripped Kwesi Appiah's Captainship over the mere reason of him not being able to speak the French language and handed it over to Abedi Pele.

Speaking to Esther Abankwa on Angel TV's sports show "On the Turf" over the weekend, Nana Fitz noted that the unfortunate incident brought about divisions in the National Team, which has lingered on till now.

"Look, Kwesi Appiah was a very successful captain who brought unity into the team, but that pain Kwesi Appiah's felt then is still there and that has had effect on the Ayew Brothers now. Look at what is happening now, Dede Ayew fighting over the Captainship of Black Stars till now. They are the ones destroying the Black Stars-Nana, "Nana Fitz said.

The Veteran Football Administrator further noted that until the feud between Abedi Pele and Kwasi Appiah is resolved, there would still be divisions of tribalism in the team, because Abedi Pele still controls a certain part of the Black Stars. He urged authorities to ensure that things are settled amicably.

"Abedi Pele has nothing to lose. Kwasi Appiah should give us reasons why he didn't invite Jordan Ayew, because he has form more than most of the strikers he called, he has been playing, we all have been seeing his performance. Kwasi Appiah has the destiny of the whole county in his hands, and until that feud is settled, nothing good is going to happen", Nana Fitz added.

Head coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah, named a 21-man squad for the AFCON 2019 qualifier against Kenya next month.

The list which has gotten many people talking excluded the Star’s captain, Asamoah Gyan, as well as the Ayew brothers who have been out of his squad since the World Cup qualifier draw against Congo in Kumasi.
