Elect regional officers - GHA directs regional associations

The Ghana Handball Association (GHA) has directed all its regional associations to elect officers ahead of its national congress next month.

A statement issued by the GHA last Friday explained that the election of regional officers would pave way for the asociation to organise its national congress, where an executive would be elected to steer the affairs of handball in Ghana for the next four years.

The statement, signed by the Secretary-General of the association, Charles Amofah, disclosed that all regional associations had already been directed to furnish the national secretariat in Accra with the dates and venues for their elections.

It explained that the current four-year mandate of the national executive had elapsed, hence the need for the GHA to go to congress as soon as practicable.

It said with the exception of the Volta and Upper East Regional associations that had already elected their respective regional officers, the rest were yet to do so.

It warned that “regions that fail to elect their executive cannot take part in or benefit from any official national handball programme".

According to the statement, letters had already been dispatched to all the regional associations, and therefore entreated regional officers to comply with the directive.
