Capt Mahama was murdered brutally because he was fighting galamsey and won't be bribed. It remarkable that the houses built with galamsey money make the village houses more beautiful than many houses even in Accra. Police chief inspectors, military Bose's, MPs, bank managers all sponsor galamsey operations. The owner of the land also benefits heavily from galamsey. I concluded on my visit to the Obuasi area that if the small scale miners will dig their own mechanised boreholes and use the water for their washing and thereafter collect the wastewater in a tailings dam to treat it and lessen the risk of the cyanide and Mercury they used then they should be allowed to do their business because it provides jobs to many families to earn livelihood. The galamsey guys have money to pay for the construction of mechanised boreholes and tailings reservoir to treat their wastewater.

The new testament was written over 120 years after the death of Jesus. There is a lot in there that is pure conjecture. Too much of everything becomes a nuisance. In as much as we empathize with the family of the late Major Mahama who was mistaken for an armed robber, many of us are getting sick and tired of the too much attention given to his death. Is he the only Ghanaian to die in the line of duty. Were the High Court judges who were abducted and murdered by soldiers given that much respect? What about soldiers murdered in Bolga and Bawku? Did they have blood in their veins too? Why, why, why. How many police officers have been killed by armed robbers? Was Prez Mills even given that respect. We are tired of everyday Major Mahama news. Which government official has died and endowment fund of that much has been established for his children. I tell you, people are losing sympathy for his death. It is enough. Too much of everything is bad. Was he even on an official duty as we have been made to believe?
Now, any soldier who die on the line of duty will demand such treatment too. Can Ghana afford that. How much does it cost to fly a plane? Yet so much was spent to fly his family to the place of his death. Could they not have driven. I am getting a little angry. Can all these expenditure and demands from his extended family bring him back to life? It is time to move on. Can we believe he went jogging for 15 kilometers in military shoes?
We may blame the people of Oboase Denkyira but it may not be their fault. They might have been terrorized by armed robbers for a long time so when they saw the major with a gun, they unfortunately mistook him to be one and lynched him because the police usually do very little or nothing about armed robbery cases.
I will want to tell the family to let sleeping dogs lie before people start to write horrible things about him.
We should also remember that soldiers and police have beaten, tortured and killed innocent people too and not even investigations were carried into such acts. We are all Ghanaians and humans. The fact that one carries a gun does not make the one above the law.
If the soldiers that Akuffo Addo recently foolishly praised are real men, they should flush the Fula people who have become a threat to Ghanaians and armed robbers from our roads, towns and cities.

8.I don't know so much about military training but I think they should be taught how to ride bicycles, motor-bikes and all kinds of vehicles. And also how to hi-jack any of the various means of transportation when it becomes very necessary for their own safety.
In as much as we all sympathise and rebuke such a bad event I think we also have to reflect on issues like these. Sometimes we need certain answers!
