Until they are ready to point out and hand over the perpetrators, the entire Community should be collectively held accountable, treated as the culprits. None of them should be deemed innocent.

I just don't know what the soldiers are waiting for. At least, by now, we should be having conflicting figures of the number youth wasted to accompany the Captain. You don't need to waste a bullet.... Next time, other village champions will not take the law into their own hands.

I thought by myself, the same way you are thinking but it is real possibility that the mob could have taken him by surprise. Imagine the scenario where he is trying to defuse the situation by stating that he is a army officer, infront of all these blood thirsty youths with the massive egoistical so-called assembly man, then out of no where someone throws the first stone(block in this case), it might have taken him(late Capt) by surprise and the rest we know now. So please, yes some of us will do what you just said(self-defense) but this young man gave his life and I hope like the way Stephen was stoned to death in the book of Acts and spurred the Church on, this will bring all the politicians on board to solve this menace of lawlessness once and for all. RIP Capt.
