From the grapevine, he and some NDC gurus formed a 'consortium' to buy Merchant Bank from SSNIT (the majority share holder). Under his brother's(John Mahama) administration, he could get away with his misdeeds. However, under the new dispensation, since crime does not expire, he will have to answer for his actions. When a person issues about 40 dud cheques and is noit called upon to answer for well over one year, and yet clears his merchandise from the port, then you expect the media and public to treat him (Ibrahim) with kid gloves. Tell me, who clears his/her goods at the port with cheques?? Why didn't he use bankers draft, the norm, if he didn't have bad intention of robbing the state? All his misdeeds were as a result of the backing he had from his brother (ex President Mahama. More issues are yet to come and don't call this 'witch-hunting' but 'witch-arresting' because he has become a witch.

These are company checks not personal checks issued to coincide with payments made by government for works done by Engineers & Planners. If government had honored it's obligation this issue won't arise in the first place.

I can see the brand or species of Africans that Prof Lumumba has described as voting for corrupt African leaders here. This guy has robbed the state of much needed revenue since 2015 by issuing a dud chaque and there are people who are describing this nation wrecker as a business mogul.
Why has Ibrahim not made any frantic effort to discharge his financial obligations to the state if he is a genuine patriot? He should have pursued his effort to settle his indebtedness to the state with the same zeal with which he has been pursuing his business interests.
Has the GRA offered other Ghanaian importers that same latitude of time to settle their customs duties like Ibrahim has been given? What we do know is that there are several Ghanaian importers who have had their goods , especially vehicles impounded and sold at ridiculously low prices to party operatives because they have not been able to meet the deadline of payment. Why then should Ibrahim issue a dud cheque which in itself is punishable by law and also have the privilege to keep his vehicles for well over 1 year without duties paid?
We should be objective.
