At least, I am not the only person who do not understand that. Anytime I speak to my folks in Ghana, they quote the old currency and my question to them is, why can't they get over with that old cedi shit?

That is the way it has been for generations,whenever we change the currency it takes time for the folks to adjust to the new ones,not all of us are educated to quickly change to what you the so called educated ones want us to do.
Even when Kwame Nkrumah changed the pound to cedis people still called it pounds even after his overthrow,I remember it was not too long ago when we stopped calling it pounds,they simply doubled the cedi as one pound.
When I go to Ghana or call somebody and they tell me one million I know what is one million,I know what is twenty million.
The best they should have done was to call it cedis which would have helped but Kufour and his group foolishly called it Ghana cedis which is making it difficult for people to adjust to,even KT Hammond few years ago in parliament said they need to change that but some ignorant NDC MPs kicked against it ignorantly using the dollar as an example without knowing that we have different dollars in different countries while the cedi is only in Ghana.

Just as well as New Ghana Cedis, till now that the old cedis are no longer in circulation & out of rotation long ago.

The cure for this MILLION (C100.00) and BILLION (1,000.00) BIGIOSIS psychological disease should start from the TOP - Government, Banks, Schools, Transportation Hubs, Markets, Stores down to street Hawkers. They should stop quoting prices in the Old Cedi denominations, perhaps with some limited law enforcement actions since psychotics are not easily tamed. Perhaps prescription of PLACEBO pills will do the curing job for miscreants.
