Why do Ghanaians still trade quoting new Cedis in old currency?

    That exercise was the greatest deception ever perpetuated on Ghanaians. It was so so artificial no wonder people still quote the old cedis. The mind has simply refused to accept the artificial change.

    my brother i have said this in U.S one of the radio station before that new currency is a disaster that killed Ghana money but people don't want to hear that,this changed of money fall Ghana's economy .

    At least, I am not the only person who do not understand that. Anytime I speak to my folks in Ghana, they quote the old currency and my question to them is, why can't they get over with that old cedi shit?

    This is just sheer stupidity and ignorance. Remember the same b/s went on for decades, when the British Pound was changed to Cedi. Ghanaians quoted the cedi as "Pon" for about 40 years. SMDH

    I also don't understand why Ghana is always mentioned next to the cedi. Why not simply call it cedi, instead of 'Ghana cedi'. No other country uses our cedi and so please stop it, it's annoying.

    Just as well as New Ghana Cedis, till now that the old cedis are no longer in circulation & out of rotation long ago.
    We still have a very long way to go with all these small small things like this topic.
