For Woyome to be able to pay by only GHC 4 Million installments, there has to be the likelihood of whether he blew it all so fast, or shared it among others that he finds it difficult to retrieve all in bulk, or he is simply only playing for time to let the money earn more for him from some investment he might have put it in.
We cannot and should not wait for even a month to receive all the GHC 51 Million plus appropriately calculated interest for all the time he kept it and penalty, as well.
The Attorney-General could easily trace how he disbursed the money, even if he rushed it all into some foreign safe haven banks.
The best way to get Woyome pay up immediately is to confiscate every known asset he has in the World, all over. Government could have consulted with all the Governments of countries with safe haven Banks to pressure the Banks to check for any deposits from Woyome and have them return to Ghana. And for as long as Woyome delays refunding the money in full with all the penalties and interests, he should be in languishing in jail.
This is the kind of fraud that deserves prosecution by the World Court, if the Court were any authentic anymore. In fact, I would advocate for all Government Officials who deliberately steal from us large amounts that exceed their pensions to be tried by the World Court, even if we were to show any mercy.
We should all take note that any monies stolen from the Government deny ordinary Citizens financial freedom, and could even cause needless deaths of innocent Citizens. Need I explain? I do not think so. But just for one example: If a Hospital runs out of funds, and is unable to provide emergency Medicine to sustain lives of patients, while Government could have intervened to buy that Medicine with a fraction of what Woyome took fraudulently, would it not be correct to make the case that the loss of that money ascertained the death of the Patients?
Meanwhile, while Woyome sits on that much money, many Schools, Hospitals, and other vital Institutions are deprived of adequate funding. For all the work they do, some Teachers, Nurses, and Doctors, among other Citizen workers, sometimes go unpaid for lengthy periods. Many even simply do not have enough to feed themselves and their families, or pay for their rents, or their School-Children's fees.
Where are Woyome's morals? And those of his collaborators in Government, helping him to stonewall our efforts to retrieve the loot?
If these thieving folks still do not care to refund our stolen money, even as the Supreme Court has ruled to have it refunded, we should not have any sympathy for whatever ill-fate that the case would bring them.
God is watching them all! And so are we!! While God may take His time to whip the butts of these kleptocrats, we ordinary Ghanaians cannot wait any longer, and could snap anytime to use drastic extra judicial measures to get our Money back.
Amidu must stay in their skin till they start screaming in real pain!! Sorry, if I sound insensitive. But sometimes we need to respond in kind to any brute who resorts to cruelty and savagery to save the lives of many others.
