Folks, all of you responding to my opinion piece in diverse ways seem not to grasp the import of my concerns.
The voters register is not a problem to waste energy and resources on. The real problem for Ghana's democracy is the impatience, intolerance, and anachronistic "rogue" politics being done by those who consider themselves as the bona fide power brokers but can't win the voters' trust to be elected into office. They are all over the place, led on the leash by Akufo-Addo and his NPP cabal.
A democracy that is dominated by characters of this sort who expend energy causing needless trouble than contributing concrete input to improve the situation won't endure. That is why the NPP people are quick to talk about VIOLENCE if things go against them. The will of the people is what matters.
At election time, can't vigilance solve the problems of impersonation or anything that the NPP people are killing themselves for without making any headway? If the so-called millions of unqualified voters show up at the polls, why can't they be exposed and dealt with?
I think that John Ndebugri's challenge to the LMVCA anf Akufo and his NPP cabal says it all. If they think they have any genuine matter against the current voters register, they should go to court and fight it there.
Even in answering their useless petition at the outcome of Election 2012, the Supreme Court had nothing to say against the current voters register. So, what are these NPP self-righteous, empty braggarts talking about?
Causing public disaffection for the EC won't put them in power. They had better devise better strategies to reach out to the electorate. Otherwise, they will suffer humiliation at Election 2016. Then, when they go out of their way to misbehave, the full force of state power will be brought down heavily on them. We are waiting!!

No factories to provide jobs for our youth who drink pito daily to assuage their hurt. ND has imposed hardships, yet when we stand up we say NDC. Fuck NDC, fuck all those still singing NDC. We should teach NDC a bitter lesson, come 2016. All those politicians in Volta supporting NDC are thieves and self seekers. The Reg NDC Executives are all thieves. I have derided it as useless and a desperate attempt to find fault where there is none. Did the NPP people know of the 76,000 or the millions that they are now tarnishing as unqualified voters at the time they were fighting their useless petition at the Supreme Court? If they didn't, then, what does it say about them?
Again, how could the NPP expose such "fallacies" without the EC's being aware of them since the EC was and still is the authority on the voters register. Is the NPP telling us that it has a more credible list/register of voters than what the EC provided for Election 2012?
Indeed, I would have been very much excited to hear from the Togolese authorities on their voters register that the NPP used for their kind of comparative analysis.
Again, here is a more pertinent aspect. How come that it was only the NPP that could have access to both registers of Ghana and Togo? If the NPP felt it had a genuine case, why didn't it give the EC a copy of the Togolese regiwster that featured in its analysis?
Remember that the EC had asked all the political parties to submit reports/proposals to help it move ahead in cleaning the electoral roll. Even before the NPP could submit its proposal/report, it had gone the extra mile to create the impression that the EC was complicit in electoral malpractices on the basis of a bloated register.
There are many intricate issues involved here that need a sober reflection to comprehend and address. But for as long as the NPP people have taken a resolute stand not to listen to reason from other quarters, nothing productive and beneficial to Ghana's demiocracy will emerge. Let them hit their heads against the brickwall.
After all, what can anybody do if there is no money to compile a new voters register? Kufuor's stupid suggestiopn that the government should borrow money for it is damnable.
In effect, then, my friend, this whole noise about the voters register is vain.
Can these NPP people not do things to win the hearts of the people instead of focusing on useless technicalities? I don't blame them because they are not politicians. They are politically motivated confidence tricksters to be ditched!!
