Kofi, You could not have said it better. I completely agree with you that NDC appointees and sympathizers have become over sensitive to criticisms and genuine demands on the government because of the incompetence displayed so far on the dumsor issue. My father used to say you resort to insults when you have nothing sensible to say.
Secondly, asking the organizers to come up with solutions to the dumsor problem is nonsensical. No one has elected them to solve our energy and other problems. They have not put themselves up for elections but as citizens, they have every right to hold their elected officials accountable for resolving the nation's problems. When they become overtly political on behalf of one or more political parties, then we can tell them whatever we think of them. For now, they have confined themselves to one issue which has become a national disgrace.
If the President and his appointees had declared this as a national crisis/emergency and marshalled all resources to resolve it, it would not have come to this. Until they do that, citizens have the right to petition their govt and agitate for a resolution. It is called CITIZENSHIP, my friends.

What are their contribution to the problem? Van Vicker went to Liberia with money to help solve their electricity problem. Can Lydia Forson or Yvonne Nelson show Ghanaians anything they have done for Ghana? And the writer stupidly writing trash, You only criticize after putting up an alternative not just following the flow. No wonder people insult them because they have no idea of what is the problem. If you have extension of electricity ad do not increase the power generation, you end up with power outage. This is simply common sense. If your parents leave you two bedroom apartment and you give birth to ten children, you end up have having many grand children. most of your children will sleep outside home. Kofi Atta is just a stomach follower not analyst. What did Kofi Atta achieve? Nothing. Cheap pppularity? No, he missed the point.

In the case of Van Vicker and what he did for Liberia was perhaps, on humanitarian grounds because the country went through civil war that destroyed their infrastructure. Ghana has not experienced such conflict or natural disaster such as earthquake, floods, tsunami, etc to require humanitarian assistance from rich individuals though if they decide to do, fair enough.
Your analysis of parents bequeathing their children with a property and they having too many children than the property can accommodate is more applicable to future leaders of Ghana who failed to adequately increase power supply in Ghana. I have made a number of short, medium and long term suggestions on how dumsor could be resolved in a number of articles on Ghana and did not see the need to repeat the same in this article. What has my achievement or lack of it got to do with debating what is happening in Ghana? Who missed the point, you or me? Have a nice day.

Very strong argument with good english. What is most annoying in this dumso mater to some us of who have been voting for NDC since 1992 is the failure of the president to SACK THOSE WHO GAVE HIM WRONG INFORMATION ON WHICH HE BASED HIS TIMELINES. I just don't get it. He the president can only be taken seriously by some of us only when he starts FIRING PEOPLE. Insulting those who have votes is their own problem. They are yearning for OPPOSITION.

The NDC machine has yellow belly cowards for spokespersons lacking in the wisdom department and so is the dumsor critics of the President who show themselves to be unworthy of being taken seriously because they have never presented a viable solution even as they read from the play book of saboteurs.
Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson and other dimwits spend enough money to bleach their skin to be some light skinned negros but complain for spending way too much money on keeping their backup generators running on fuel. Is such a complaint worthy of support from any thinking Ghanaians? A very applicable analogy to Yvonne Nelson or Lydia Forson's childish tantrums is this: A homeowner who ignore to install roofing gutters for the ease in collecting rainfall but complain about lack of water for watering household vegetation is a homeowner too stupid for their own good. Is there anything freer than the suns energy? Could Yvonne and other rich negroes here in Ghana install solar panels on their houses to take advantage of the free source of energy from the sun and reduce their dependence on ECG? Is Lydia, Yvonne and other rich and mighty Ghanaians not being ignorant and unwise with their own decisions even as they shamelessly blame the government? Lydia Forson, Yvonne Nelson and others do not speak for Ghana's poor for Ghana's poor have suffered the indignities of households without electricity and or indoor plumbing since independence of Ghana and never heard from all the idiots and selfish fools of late who dare to complain because they find their undergarments caught up in a buch. Let us get our act together in Ghana and stop following empty headed Ghana-made celebrities who could not bring any wisdom to the table if the survival of Ghana depended on a singular exercise of epiphany from any of them.

Abeeku, I do not share the view that because rich celebrities have not invested in solar energy for their private use or have no ideas on how to resolve dumsor, they should not express their views on matters of national importance. Even if they had solar power at home, they could not rely on that for their professional activities since their operations are outside their homes.
My view is that all Ghanaian citizens including school children who have to revise in darkness for their examinations due to dumsor have the right to express their views and frustrations over the way the Mahama administration has handled the energy crisis. Today, I heard on Newsfile that the government has given over thirty dates and assurances on when dumsor will end and we are all witnesses that none of them have been met. If that is not pure lies and dishonesty, what do you call it?
Again, because the celebrities cannot solve the problems of the nation that is why they have not offered themselves to do so through the ballot box. Those who claimed they will do are those in political office. There is nothing wrong with them raising concerns or views on matters of national importance even if they have no ideas on how that national problem/s should be addressed. Their contribution to nation building in their chose profession. I am still of the view that the NDC attacks, abuse and insults are in bad taste and uncalled for. Instead, they should invest their energy into how they can end dumsor sooner because dumor is very damaging Ghana.
