Nkrumah lifted this old head from his uncivilized world - by educating him and hoping that he would become enlightened and contribute to the Ghanaian identity.Rather,education did not change the deeply ingrained and culturally backward ethnocentrism he brought along from his past environment.This is contrary to Plato's "Allegory of the Cave", from the "Republic",Book V11. Adofo turned his head in the Cave and he still saw shadows.So many "educated" folks - including some with Ph.D.'s are in the same boat.Thus,their education is meaningless and it would have been better not to let them turn their heads at all.
