Kola,easy.
Anyway, Adofo, your father-in-law's saying to his kids is a quotation from the Bible.
Genesis 4:6-7. That was God's response to Cain after he killed his brother Abel.

Ghana is being raped by an antiquated and useless Chieftaincy;the Judiciary;Police;Charismatic and established churches;mallams and fetish priests;and above all,by thieving and unscrupulous SOBs who call themselves politicians.
The whole edifice needs to be upended, and a new contract(giving power to the people) between the government and the people should be signed. No significant development or improvement in the lives of the forgotten poor - who are in the majority - can take place UNLESS we find a STRONG,SELFLESS,NON-TRIBALISTIC and UNCORRUPTED VISIONARY(like an Atartuk,Nehru,Bourguiba, Nkrumah,Kuan Yew,Abdul Rahman,Park Chung-Lee and Deng Xiaoping) - to lead us to the promised land.

Traditions, customs, folkways or norms are simply rules or standards of behavior and the expectations shared by all the members of a group about how everyone is supposed to act. They are handed down from generation to generation. Every progressive society places great emphasis on the importance of teaching children the rules of conduct and the standards of behavior of that society.
Traditions tend to resist change even when it's required and demanded. If they do change, they usually change slowly.
No society could get along without rules and traditions. Their overall effect upon society is beneficial. If these traditions are corrupt and lead to evil and bad behavior rather than righteousness, then the evil one has a powerful tool to corrupt the children and the youth, for they usually follow the traditions of their parents. This is where we are as a nation. The children have seen the error and folly of their parents, elders and leaders ways and are rebelling and the so called leaders are crying foul. Often parents and leaders are tempted to direct as owners rather than as stewards. Stewardship demands accountability whilst ownership shuns it. In the last analysis, we own very little, but are stewards over much. This could be the beginning of a social revolution never seen before in the nation's history.
