Yes, Kofi got it wrong on this.

Nyansasem, your analysis and combinations are interesting. Yaw Ohemeng refers to Nana Akufo-Addo's modus operandi as positioning himself. If you also say my description of his antics as manipulation is disingenuous, fine. We can call it whatever we want, including influence. As in my response to Yaw, if we seriously believe that, without any efforts on his part and he continues to live in London unconcerned, with Jake and Sir John being neutral arbiters,he will still win, then we do not understand politics. Above all, if Nana wants to contest, then he must ensure that majority of those who will vote at the primaries are those who are favourable to him. That is what he has asked Jake and Sir to do.You know in every election, a candidate must campaign. How come he is away from the ground when his strongest opponent is in Ghana? Because his men (Jake and Sir John) are firmly on the ground. To avoid the accusation of direct manipulation, he decides to be away from Ghana. It's as simple as that. If he contests, he will surely secure the nomination. That is a forgone conclusion from all indications, unless things go horribly wrong and both Jake and Sir John are thrown out at the national elections and replaced by others who are unsympathetic to Nana Akufo Addo.
