A rather lengthy diatribe against Mahama and his policies...while it is true that Ghanaians are smarting under difficulty economic conditions, the President has every right under the sun to take a vacation wherever he chooses however outrageous and inappropriate this may turn out to be...the howls from this individual and like minded folks are a distraction. The previous NPP administration did things that shocked and offended Ghanaians....Kufour was constantly flying overseas on personal and official missions and not surprisingly stirred up controversies. He was, like Mahama, accused of all sorts of things by his NDC detractors....this is politics at its worst and Kwarteng ought to be sophisticated enough to know this, yet he rails against Nkrumah, Rawlings, Mahama and anyone else who does not come from his camp........And he then sickeningly ends his piece with a biblical quote thus reaffirming the notion that Africans are dupes for religious charlatans.....

There are many inaccuracies in your history "lesson". Don't forget the importance of the World War II in the decolonisation process. At the end war Britain was so broke that she could not hold onto her colonies. India/Pakistan achieved independence in 1947. Besides the US was discouraging continuing colonisation. Whilst not down playing the important part played by the agitations for independence by the people of the Gold Coast, I do not think Malaria was a major influence on the British at the time
