The first thing to problem solving is to admit that there is a problem. If one is in self denial, then that problem will never be solved. The NPP gurus don't believe they are the problem. The list of 'demons' that you've compiled is no fiction. It is as true as daylight but the party leaders will rather divert their attention to the NDC and the EC as the cause of their loss than find time to brainstorm and come up with a solution to their problem. The party MUST change its leadership and attitude if they want to win national presidential elections in Ghana.

The leadership of the NPP would toss your good suggestions out of the window. They spend too much time admiring themselves in the mirror.

The old tradition is not helping Npp.The party is not Akan party for only Ashantis and Akyems but these groups have many lobbyists and moreso because of Danquah and Busia tradition. If NPP goes scientific, they will know that UGCC started from Saltpond,Cape Coast,Sekondi and Accra.Come to Sekondi, you will see the Independence Arch there, you will see the works of Caseley Hayford and George Grant. If the party goes scientific, they will know that the United Party is not made of only Danquah's and Busia's parties. If the goes scientific they will discover that it does not take a rich and a popular candidate to win élections else Kwame Nkrumah could not beat J.B.Danquah and Busia all the time even the United Party altogether. These are the bitter lessons NPP must learn. The old tradition of keeping energetic people in party behind and always rallying for old school candidate is wrong. The idea of first come first serve is not good in politics, the party must groom the youth and search for a strategic candidate.NPP must construct a new winning machine and forget about the old tradition, that is what is killing NPP.You see,Kuffour used a new tactic in trading horses with CPP which brought him to power.Nana Addo did not trade horses with any party in 2008 and 2012 general elections thus his poor performance.Thank you.

You have identified some of the problems of the NPP which many of us have known all along, and for which you did not need such a survey. I wish to draw your attention to the following flaws in your piece:
1. You state that "the system for the presidential poll is basically a two-round system". Where did you get that? That is as erroneous as it is false. Readers (and you) must note that the ONLY situations in which there is any second round in presidential polling is where no candidate garners 50% plus of the vote. So for you to say that it is "basically a two-round process" is grossly misleading and must be retracted.
2. You tell us that this qualitative study you undertook had a response rate of 30% among a sample size of 100!!! Are you seriously suggesting that on the basis of 30% response you can draw meaning and statistically sound conclusions? What analyses did you undertake using SPSS? For the information of unsuspecting readers, SPSS is a statistical software, but NOT a statistical method of analysis. You can create databases in SPSS and execute various statistical functions in order to analyse your data.
I would much prefer that you write a non-scientific piece for the general public in which you can discuss the 'woes of the NPP' rather than attempt an 'intellectual piece' which is very weak and of a poor quality such as we read here.
There is no doubt that the NPP has a lot of problems which did not start with the petition, but have been worsened by it. It is now clear that the petition was prosecuted in bad faith and not with the interest of the Ghanaian voter and the country in mind.
It was done only as a gamble to seek to install Akufo Addo and his party in government not via the ballot box but through technicalities. It failed and that is the end of the matter as far as the rest of Ghanaians are concerned. As to the NPP party, they have very serious problems and a complete lack of decisive, disciplined and honest leadership and that is perhaps their biggest problem.
The earlier they begin to put their house in order and to seek to overhaul their dysfunctional party the better for them. In doing so, they must recognise that Ghanaians and the Ghanaian electorate has become more savvy and knowledgeable and that the old system of voting for parties is changing, a fact all political parties ought to recognise (not just the NPP).
There is therefore no guarantee that promises and / or throwing moneys and food about will necessarily win elections, but more importantly policies and a plan for the country, plus looking at the individuals and their track record in and out of government (including integrity) will become more important going forward.
If you wish to undertake a good analysis of these issues, then fine please do so. But this survey of yours needs more than you have done. Why don't you spend time discussing the limitations and in particular why so many people (70% of your sample) failed to take part for instance?

Paul this is just a written summary of the actual report and for your information,SPSS was used to compile the percentages and mean for the qualitative responses received. It is accepted that the sample size was small and statistically made the work and inferences not solid. However this was only a spot on pilot study and it was only to argue a point from some empirical basis. There were however some limitations as to the universal generalization of the findings and it was recommended that further comprehensive studies be done with larger sample to consolidate the findings. All in all ,guess what matters is whether some of the findings and perceptions are valid or must be washed under the carpet.

This study sought to be a frame work for further research to validate and come up with more conclusive findings and recommendations. Respondents were of the opinion that the NPP should commence an immediate in-house audit and forensic analysis of the electoral results and outcomes to lay out the strong foundation, if it wants to attain electoral victory in election 2016.

How representative is your sample? What was the basis of 100? Is the 36% response rate a good one? I wonder how generalisable your conclusion can be.
