Dr. Twumasi, your article sounds very interesting. But you should have dwelt much on the matra "education, education and education". You did stated "These elements of fire initiation and control are hardly understood by the general public due to lack of effective and regular public education on fires in the country". The whole issue is like trying to secure corporate information and technology systems. The information technology security department can download patches, service packs, and hotfixes religiously to secure the systems; install intrusion detection systems, firewalls, anti-virus software, malware software and implement other bleeding and cutting edges security technologies,both hardware and software to secure the system, but let the department commit the one cardinal sin by failing to address the gravest security risk of all "HUMAN NATURE", all these are nothing. Addressing the greatest security risk of all is all about 'effective public education', 'effective public education' and 'effective public education' on fire.

We lack innovation and ability to practically adapt with time. Our understanding of improvement is to pray for miracles to that effect.We pride ourselves as intelligent ppl who go to church but lack the ability to eat right thus having many health issues.
Over 90% of all projects undertaking by govt is in the hands of foreigners.
And if our markets were built to reflect the 21st century, we could have cameras in each lane and a gate for security but with all the money this country has, our back water developers still think market suppose to be crowded and filthy with no oversight and security.
As I type, there are more of the same designs on the table at govt offices waiting to be built.
A senseless quick fix to everything regardless of which year we are in. Our surroundings, schools, libraries, police stations,markets and society in general is all dirty and unplanned and is reflecting a 1800s than 2000s.
