Hmmm my sister, I love your zeal and enthusiasm. Having worked under both the UK and Ghana education system I can say categorically clear that there are no grounds for comparison. As your article said, Ghana is 55 UK has been in existence since 1066. Do you know how much of the UK GDP goes into Education? Do you know how much Ghana GDP goes into education? The situation is not however not hopeless. We need to serious reform of the Ghanaian education system. We need a kind of education that is not a linear type that is Primary to University. We need a kind of education which prepares individuals for self employment, we need graduates who can creat jobs to not necessarily those to be employed by the state sector or those who depend on the state sector for employment. For Education to be a way out of poverty it has to be the type of education which encourages self sustaining and independence. The UK education is not perfect and it would never be but I would like to an evolutionary change in the Ghanaian system.
