Where did Mahama ‘insult' Otumfuo? - Joseph Yamin

A former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin, has questioned individuals most especially the people of the Asante Kingdom to pinpoint in a communiqué issued by former Chief of Staff to Ex-President John Dramani Mahama, Julius Debrah where he ‘insulted’ the overlord of the kingdom.

The Asante Youth Association has condemned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for what they described as attempts to use their ‘political gains’ to destroy the Asante Kingdom.

Their comments come on the back of a press statement released by the office of the former President denying the involvement of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in his decision to concede defeat in the 2016 polls.

Contrary to what Otumfuo Osei Tutu II stated in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, that the palace had to intervene to persuade the losing candidate to accept defeat, Mr Mahama says he conceded defeat on his own accord.

Joseph Yamin who is a native of Kumasi has jumped in defense of his party’s flagbearer in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.

He was emphatic that the former President did not in any sentence of his communiqué affront Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
