The Diploma Rotational Nurses and Midwives Association (DRNMA) has called on the government to pay immediate attention and take steps to ensure that the October 2019 batch of rotational nurses and midwives are paid their allowances.

In a presser by the leadership of the association dated April 7, 2020, they indicated that their members were not able to do their biometric registration which is a requirement to receive their monies due to the effect of the Coronavirus.

“Members of this group are yet to even go through their biometric registration exercise which is an important first step for one to get paid,” parts of the statement read.

The association is pleading with the government to consider other ways to ensure their workers receive their allowances as the biometric registration is impossible in the wake of the virus.

“Government needs to look at alternative measures to ensure that they are paid so that the biometric component could be given attention later.”
