Voices on CID tape sound like 'ghosts chattering' – A-Plus

Musician Kwame A-Plus has said the voices on an audiotape purported to have captured a cover-up phone conversation between a man whose voice sounds like his, and an alleged female police interlocutor, in connection with investigations by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) into allegations of graft against Deputy Chiefs of Staff Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor, sound like ghosts chattering away when it was played to hearing on Accra-based OK FM for his comments during a phone interview.

“The tape is inaudible to me, I couldn’t hear a thing as you played it,” A-Plus who accused the two young politicians of engaging in corruption told host Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Thursday, 28 September.

“The voices sound more like the chatter of ghosts,” A-Plus told the host, adding: “So give me up to tomorrow morning to listen to the tape then I’m sure I can confirm its content to the people of Ghana.”

“I’ll come and tell the whole country tomorrow morning whether it is true or not, but what you just played on radio was so inaudible to me, I didn’t hear a thing,” A-Plus insisted.

It is recalled that the CID recently cleared the two of any wrongdoing after the President referred the matter to them for investigations.

However, the audiotape in question, which has been widely circulated on WhatsApp, suggests there was a cover-up.

In the audiotape, the male voice’s female interlocutor is heard telling the male character on the other end of the line that: “…As for the corruption aspect of it, from what you said and what we’ve gone to confirm, you wouldn’t be too far from right to say that this is what happened, but we need to manage… the people are your people. We need to find the best way to ensure that Korle Bu works the way we all want it to work.”
