Trending GH: Ghanaians disappointed, advise Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy to show maturity

Scores of Ghanaians have expressed disappointment in two of the country’s favourite Dance Hall musicians, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale after the unexpected brawl at last night’s VGMAs at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The scuffle blow up between camps of the two sensational artistes at the 20th anniversary of the VGMAs happened after Shatta Wale and his fans mounted the stage just when Stonebwoy was giving his acceptance speech as Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

According to members of the general public, both artists should have shown some level of maturity most especially when they happened to find themselves in the public space.

Speaking to Ghanaweb, a concerned fan stated, “even though I am a Shatta fan I think what he did by walking on stage without an invite is bad. He should have congratulated him (Stonebwoy) through a standing ovation if really he had intentions of congratulating him. Stonebwoy too did not do well by pulling a gun in front of over 4,000 crowds.’’

Another one also said, “Stonebwoy didn’t try at all. How did he take the Gun inside the auditorium? I think the organizers of the show did not do well in terms of security I should say. But for Shatta Wale, he did not even come to stage for his award, so why will he go on stage to congratulate Stonebwoy.

The fight that erupted was as a result of Stonebwoy having been announced the winner of ‘Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year’ for the fifth time when his musical rival, Shatta Wale, and his entourage mounted the stage which triggered Stonebwoy to pull a gun when Shatta Wale and his Militants came more closer.
