Afia Schwarzenegger has condemned the Ghana Police Service for the increased cases of police brutality across the nation.

The controversial TV presenter who was recounting how she lost a brother to police brutality some fifteen years ago said the situation is currently ‘overwhelming’.

According to her, after shooting her brother, the Suame police accused him of being an armed robber.

“Suame police killed my brother. They said they were giving a warning shot and it hit my brother,” she recalled.

She added that “they accused my brother of being an armed robber after killing him and my family wouldn’t have been able to bury him if we were not firm”.

The host of the comic political fact-checking show on TV Africa, ‘Political Police’ says she is currently in talks with lawyers to get her late brother the justice her family couldn’t get fifteen years ago.

Afia Schwarzenegger was reacting to the latest case of police in the Ashanti Region battering a 22-year-old woman in their custody.

The young lady is currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) after she was allegedly tortured by the police Friday.

Afia Schwarzenegger urged the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Appeatu, to call his men to order as "police brutality is getting out of hand".
