RE: Find Abronye’s kind in NDC to deal with him – Prof. Prempeh to Mahama

Executive Director of the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), Ghana Prof. Henry Kwasi Prempeh is asking the general public to disregard a publication which said he had remarked it was needless for former President John Mahama to be involved in a legal fight with someone who is not at par with him in politics.

The comment, according to the publication, was a directed response to Mr. Mahama's decision to file a complaint to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service urging them to investigate allegations by the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffour that he Mr Mahama had planned to cause the assassination of some NPP members.

But in a Facebook post, Prof. Prempeh said he never granted any interview in relation to the subject matter.

His post read: "False news. This is nonsense. The things I say, they don't report properly, and things I haven't even dreamed of saying, they report as mine. I have never appeared on any such radio show and never ventured an opinion on any such matter. As a matter of fact, I don't even know who this Abronye DC person is, though the name is one I often hear mentioned on the airwaves these days as some very influential person in our contemporary party politics. In fact, I have no idea what this whole story about Mahama is even about.

"Kwasi Prempeh" happens to be a fairly common name. But there is only one "H. Kwasi Prempeh" who also happens to be Executive Director of CDD-Ghana, and he is not given to talking by heart or dabbling in this sort of petty party political chatter. Know your Kwasi Prempehs before going public with stories making such ridiculous attributions."
