Pull out of 2020 polls in advance; it will be violent too – Dela Coffie to ‘coward’ NDC Executives’

An activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress is advising his party to consider pulling out of the 2020 elections in advance as it would also be as violent as the Ayawaso Wuogon by-election they boycotted; MyNewsGh.com has filed.

Mr Coffie’s comment comes after the hierarchy of his party announced their withdrawal from the controversial election following the eruption of violence widely believed to have been masterminded by the ruling party’s official thugs who are now armed and trained.

The ruling party’s candidate, Mama Lydia won the poll by 12,041 votes representing 68.30% with the closest contender, Delali Kwasi Brempong, the National Democratic Congress’ candidate polling 5,341 votes representing 30.52%

William Dowokpor of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Clement Boadi of the Liberal Party of Ghana both managed a paltry 102 and 17 votes respectively.

But commenting on the development, Mr Dela Coffie said NDC lacks strategy beyond their bobolibobo sloganeering.

“We saw it coming, didn’t we? At least some of us have made the point time and again that there is more to election strategy and political intelligence gathering than mere sloganeering and “Bobolibobo.” Yes, political strategy is not a walk in the park or picking flowers in a garden. Fellas don’t get it and they will never do,” he said.



“Events at Ayawaso West Wagon earlier today and subsequent verbal withdrawal from the process by the NDC is a clear leadership failure. Leadership has failed the NDC and left the party badly exposed.” He added.

Mr Dela Coffie who has been declared wanted for countless incidents of fraud against people was of the opinion that his party was simply not prepared for the poll.

“The NDC went into this elections without any contingency measures to deal with the excesses associated with such exercise. There was no clear cut security readiness and preparedness for this election.”

He condemned the radio politics of NDC at a time he says, NPP bigshots were out to serve as agents.

“Let the record show that even as at yesterday while the NPP bigshots were on the ground screaming, the entire Functional Executive Committee members of the NDC led by the National Chairman were on radio rabble-rousing. The result is what we witnessed today.”

“The NDC leadership lacks the tradition of the organization of intelligence gathering and strategies. Most people that have common sense and a brain knows the dynamics of by-elections and Ayawaso West Wagon is no exception. But NDC leaders clearly went into a gun battle wielding bread knife, and by simply allowing intimidation to force a whole NDC with its revolutionary background to withdraw from this by-elections tells you the party is not ready to win any future elections in Ghana.”

The NPP on the other has proven that they have the capacity to win any elections by every means possible. And just so you know, this is just a dress rehearsal for 2020. We must as well boycott 2020 too in advance and continue to dance to “Bobolibobo. God save us all…”
