Police interrogates two persons on murder of undercover Journalist

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has interrogated two persons in relation to the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, the Investigative Journalist who was shot dead by two unknown assailants, last Wednesday.

They are Mr Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central and Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, a Former President of the Ghana Football Association.

A statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police David Eklu, the Director General of Public Affairs, said a team of detectives and other experts had interrogated both men as the Police had commenced an extensive and rigorous investigation into the case

It said statements had been taken from both personalities towards unravelling the mystery surrounding the assassination of the undercover Journalist, who played a key role in exposing corruption in Ghana Football through Anas’ Number12 documentary.

The statement said: “The CID has and continues to interrogate other persons of interest as well as following up on multiple significant leads.”

The statement said the CID was committed to a thorough investigation of high integrity in this case in particular, and all other unresolved crimes in general.

It said update and outcomes of these investigations would be made known to the public as they became available and appropriate to do so.

Mr Hussein Suale was killed at Madina around Taxi Rank near the Queen of Peace Catholic on Wednesday, January 16, while returning home to take a sick niece to the hospital.

He was survived by two wives and four children.

There has been widespread condemnation of the murder from all over the world, including the President of Ghana, and the United Nations.
