Mr Isaac Kwadjo Buabeng, the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Chief Executive, has called on parents to support their children’s enrollment into the free senior high school.

He said the Government’s Free SHS policy has come as a financial relief to parents and guardians and urged them to take advantage of it to invest the money saved into other socio-economic areas.

Mr Buabeng said this when he addressed a session of Junior High School (JHS) students after they finished writing their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Friday at the St Martin’s Senior High School in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipality.

He reminded the JHS candidates on the need to let their books be their companions and pay respect to their parents and guardians.

Mr Buabeng urged the teachers to continue in their efforts to give students quality education to enable them to progress in their academic pursuits.

Ms Jayne Anaman, the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Director of Education, said 2,170 students comprising 1,041 boys and 1,129 girls from the municipality took part in the examination.

She accompanied the MCE to inspect examination centres at St Martin’s Senior High School, Nsawam Senior High School, Sakyi Agyarkwa Basic School, Methodist Basic School and the Presbyterian Basic School.

Ms Anaman urged the children to continue to learn during their holidays and to support activities at home.
