Oti Akenteng is the best coach I have ever had- Shaibu Yakubu

Former AshantiGold striker Shaibu Yakubu has named former GFA Technical director, Oti Akenteng as the best coach he has ever played with.

Aketeng gave Yakubu the chance to play in the Ghana Premier league at a very young age.

He did not look back from there, winning the golden boot and becoming a thorn in the side of defenders.

“In my first season I played under Oti Akenteng, then came Hans Dieter Schmidt and David Duncan and so on. But Oti Akenteng is the best coach I’ve ever had because he guided me during the greatest part of my career. It started with him, even my call-up to Ghana U17 squad was all him. The Ghanaian coaches speak to each and he recommended to Sellas Tetteh,” he told Football Made in Ghana.

“Again he was the one that decided for me to be promoted to the senior team of AshantiGold. Thank God for that. When I came there was this big player and he was the leading scorer at the club, Yusif Kwasi but Oti Akenteng benched him and played me, it was magical.”
