The Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency, Alex Afenyo Markin has berated Authorities of the University of Education (UEW), Winneba accusing them of immersed in Nepotism.

He wondered why the University has failed to put in place Local Content Policy to enhance development in the Effutu enclave.

Speaking in an interview with Journalists after presenting a One Hundred Thousand Cedi Cheque to the Winneba Mobile Money Merchant Association, Mr Afenyo Markin said: “One key area for Effutu to take advantage of is the University College. I mean if we don’t get the university to help with a Local Content Policy aimed at helping the Private sector in Effutu, we’ll get nowhere.

He added:” And the sad part is that these people create opportunities for their family members, but when we present a case that looks help the private sector in Effutu; at least 30% of your procurement, open that door for Winneba local businessmen and women so that they can also grow, they won’t mind you. they always pay lip service.”

Critics say Afenyo-Markin cannot absolve himself of the blame in the University’s protracted problems.

But the Effutu MP, Alex Afenyo Markin has denied such claims saying all his interventions in the matters on that campus has been to ensure the right thing is done
