An aspiring Vice Chairman in the upcoming opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) national delegates conference, Dr. Kwame Ampofo, has said the party is faced with structural and internal problems.

The Kwesi Botchwey report and the recommendations made he deduced exposes the structural problems and the conflicts in the party. The report from its recommendations shows that, there were internal conflicts at several places, he said.

The recommendations also suggested rebranding from the branches and build it up to the national level. This showed that the structures of the party were weak,’’ he noted. ‘’The party had problems with communication. The message we gave to electorates were not properly communicated.’’

Former chairman for the Energy Commission said, one couldn’t sit on the fence without contributing to the rebranding and restructuring of the party for victory 2020 hence his desire to contest the race.

As an active member of the party, I have campaigned and worked at the grassroot level and so I will work to achieve the goals of the party, he told Kwame Tutu on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, in an exclusive interview.

Another reason to contest the position he explained is premised on the love he has for the party. He is looking forward to mark the grassroot stronger, firm and attractive to ensure the party benefit significantly.

His desire to contest he said was based on wide consultation done because he had wanted to contest the regional race but upon advice, he opted for the national vice chairman and I think it was the right decision.
