Abraham Amaliba, a member of the NDC legal team has said that his party was defeated in the election because they were unable to counter the notion of '2 terms per government' in the minds of most Ghanaians.

According to him, the NDC in their campaign emphasized on the fact that Mahama's administration had served just a term while the opposition party, NPP, hammered on the fact that the NDC had served two including that of late President Atta Mills.

"At the end of the day, two ideas were competing; 4 years and 8 years and it appears 8 years won,” he said.

He however stressed that Ghanaians were impatient towards the Mahama administration failing to recognise that the schools and factories built by the NDC government would in turn reap jobs to reduce the level of unemployment in the country.
