Martin Amidu cautions public officials over receipt of ‘suspicious payments’

The Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has warned public office holders and all Ghanaians against accepting suspicious payments of public funds into their personal bank accounts.

In an article copied to Citi News, Mr. Amidu recounted how he ordered payments made to his bank accounts this year, to be rejected after he found out his account had leaped more than five-fold. It turned out the payment was in fulfillment of a court case in his favour.

Martin Amidu said individuals have an obligation to return any suspicious payments to enable them to be properly investigated for their genuineness before accepting same.
