Lockdown boredom sparks ‘pillowcase challenge’

Grab a pillow, tie it on your body with the help of a belt or rope and you’re sorted! That is the ‘pillowcase challenge’ adding up to the many unusual ways of having fun with the imposition of restrictions on movements which has become necessary in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus.

With the global death toll exceeding 100,000 amidst about 1.6 million infections and more than 372,000 recoveries, countries have been left with no option but to extend their lockdowns.

For instance, Ghana has had its lockdown extended for one more week and it is likely Spain’s nationwide confinement would last until May.

The restrictions are having a devastating impact on economies globally, and world leaders are under incessant pressure to find remedies so the restrictions could be relaxed before long.

Spain and Italy are already relaxing some measures while their lockdowns continue but the World Health Organisation has cautioned that lifting lockdown measures at such an early stage could spark a "deadly resurgence" in infections.

While leaders work around the clock to see a change in narrative, the populace, in adhering to the restrictions, are prescribing antidotes for the boredom ‘inadvertently’ imposed on them.

The #pillowcasechallenge is the ‘ish’ now!
