The Porcupine fraternity was on Wednesday hit by the sad news of the passing away of its former Interim Management Team (IMT) Chairman, Alhaji Salifu Abubakar also known as Alhaji Njie.

The soft-spoken former member of the late P. V. Obeng’s Board of Directors at Kotoko, loved and served the club diligently. He never declined the opportunity to serve. He first served Kotoko in 2005 as IMT Chairman with co-opted members Opoku Afriyie, Yamoah Ponkoh and Jarvis Peprah.

He last served Kotoko in an official capacity in 2009 – chairing the Interim Management Team comprising Benjamin Nti, Madam Helena Cobbinah, Rev. Osei Kofi, Sarfo Gyamfi and Ali Maradona.

He was loved by many Kotoko supporters for his dedication and sacrificial service to Kotoko. The late Kotoko Chairman will be buried his hometown, Wenchi today according to Muslim tradition.

Alhaji Abu Lamini (former Kotoko Board member) and a family member, tells Asantekotokosc.com that, the family of Alhaji Ejee would meet on Friday. Any other announcement will come later.
