Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia has said that the Akufo-Addo-led administration will unravel the outbreak of Influenza type A, H1N1 2009, also known as Swine Flu which has claimed the lives of eleven students at Kumasi Academy in the Ashanti Region.

The Vice President was accompanied by the Health Minister Hon. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, Ashanti Regional minister Simon Osei Mensah and the Asokore Mampong Municipal chief executive Hon. Alidu Seidu as well as other dignitaries.

‘Government is with you and I can assure that the problem has been identified and we will deal with and very soon this mystery will be a thing of the past’ he emphasized.

Addressing students, parents and a section of the media, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia called for support from all stakeholders especially with parents and guardians as he says enough drugs and vaccination have arrived to deal with the disease. He, however, called on students not to take the treatment for granted as the disease is very infectious.
