KABA died weeks after gaining admission to pursue a master’s degree programme

Managers of the Multimedia Group have revealed that renowned broadcaster with one of its subsidiaries; Kwadwo Asare-Baffour Acheampong (KABA) had gained admission to pursue a Masters Degree Programme in one of the universities in the country prior to his death.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of the Multimedia Group, Kenneth Ansah he had discussions with the former host of the late afternoon political show, Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM some weeks ago about it.

“It was barely four weeks ago when I sat here with KABA. He came to me and said he has some forms to sign so I asked him what it was and he said it was some admission forms to pursue a masters degree…..we laughed over it. I was here with Okraku Mantey and some others. He asked he would bring it the following day but I said don’t worry, you bring it we would sign it here so that tomorrow you can submit it and take that course”, he revealed during a Memorial Service in his honour at the forecourt of Joy FM on Monday.

He described him as someone who never stopped pursuing wisdom and during his return to the group he laid out plans for the late afternoon political programne which success was a delight to both of them.

“On Friday when did not hear his voice at 2pm I sensed there was something wrong so I checked with his Manager. He told me KABA was not feeling too well so he asked him to go home. For some reason when I woke Saturday, the first thing I did was send Sammy Yirenkyi a message and asked how is KABA. Soon after messages started coming”, he stated.

He described him as noble and sincere in his work that when he felt weak in his body he knew he owe it a duty to his listeners advising that the lesson of making the best out of each moment.

Ken Ansah on behalf of staff and management of Multimedia Group expressed their condolences to the bereaved families and appealed those who are mourning with them to remember them in their prayers in their period of grief.
