I pray Akufo-Addo blasts Donald Trump face-to-face - Kabila

James Kwabena Bomfeh has hailed President Nana Akufo-Addo for standing up to United States President Donald Trump over the latter's unsavoury comments about African nations.

Mr. Trump is alleged to have described El Salvador, Haiti and some African nations as "shithole" countries while reportedly complaining about immigrants trooping into the US.

He made this disparaging remark during immigration negotiations on Thursday with lawmakers in the Oval Office.

This has irked some African nations with them calling on Mr. Trump to render an apology for his "racist" comments.

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, posted on his social media platforms warning the US President to refrain from insulting African countries.

"The language of @DonaldTrump that the African continent, Haiti and El Salvador are “shithole countries” is extremely unfortunate. We are certainly not a “shithole country”. We will not accept such insults, even from a leader of a friendly country, no matter how powerful", he said.

James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called Kabila, commended the President for his bold statement but added that he should take it a step further to let it register well in the mind of the US President.

The CPP Director of Elections hopes the President will hold a tête-à-tête meeting with Mr. Trump and slam him by repeating his words in the face of the US President.

“I’m praying that anytime our President meets Donald Trump face to face, he will remind him that he cannot downplay us like that”, Kabila told host Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's Kokrokoo.
