Member of Parliament of South Tongu and Ranking Member for the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports and Culture, Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome implores government to act fast on Ghana Football Association (GFA) COVID-19 stimulus package.

The country's football governing body has called on government to help ease the financial burden on them following the suspension of football activities.

Many have condemned the FA's decision to call on the government to provide them with stimulus package.

In an interview with Kumasi based Otec FM, "I think if we talk of stimulus packages, it comprises both public and private sectors. In this case, if you draw the analogy, a team has players that must be paid and sustained, and these players have families they must support at home.

"It's not only COVID -19 but the Anas expose also hit hard at the industry (GFA), a lot of things happened, so something I totally agreed that we help the investors (GFA/CLUBS) so that they can continue to run teams effectively.

"What I am aware of is that a proposal has been presented to the sector Minister and then onwards transmission to the Finance Ministry. We are all waiting for the government to act very fast on this matter, - He concluded.
