Coach of KRC Genk Phillipe Clement has replied Waasland-Beveren manager Adnan ?ustovi? for accusing him of destabilizing Ghana winger Nana Ampomah in the January transfer window.

Genk were interested in signing the inform forward from struggling Waasland-Beveren but a move fell through after failing to reach an agreement.

Adnan ?ustovi? said,"Genk tried to destabilize Ampomah. There was never been a proposal." Ampomah has been Beveren's best player this season, scoring 7 goals and creating four assists in the Jupiler Pro League.

Phillipe Clement, who was very interested in the speedy winger says his rival ?ustovi? was rather creating an unpleasant atmosphere by making those comments.

"I have the impression that Custovic uses this to create a certain atmosphere", Clement told Het Nieuwsblad .

"We have indeed contacted Waasland-Beveren this week, but when it became clear that he was not allowed to leave, we immediately went for other routes, and no proposal was even made."

Nana Opoku Ampomah was on the radar of several clubs and it is understood Genk will return in the summer to make another approach for the winger.
