Takoradi Technical University (TTU) Male Basketball Coach Owusu Ansah Ankrah has picked defending UPAC Champions University of Ghana (UG) to qualify to the semifinals in this year’s edition.

Ankrah picked UG and his side to make it beyond the quarterfinals stage of the 2018 Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship.

Both teams are in Group A alongside Ghana Technology University College and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The long tenured Coach made the statement in an interview on basketball television program “Courtside” on Ghana channel Kwese Free Sports.

The knockout phase of the competition takes places from April 12-14 at UG with two time winners Accra Technical University (ATU) drawn in Group B.

Ankrah predicted UG and TTU will qualify from Group A after occupying the top two spots in the group saying:

“UG will qualify well because they are the defending champions and they won the GUSA this year so they are a good team”.

ATU, Sunyani Technical University, All Nations University College and University of Education-Winneba are in Group B.
