About this time, in any other year, the place would be full of people, mostly from church, and the church rooms would have been full, with Christians who would be trooping in to join their congregations’ annual Easter conventions.

The Saturday after Good Friday, and it’s a different mood. Quiet in every corner and shut doors and gates at the churches as people observe the ban on social gatherings and social distancing and adhere to the lockdown directive.

A tour around the area by ghanaweb’s Eyes on the Ground lenses showed popular churches at Tesano including the Alabaster Ministries and Alive Chapel were closed.

Barely anyone could be seen in the streets as expected, and the atmosphere was relatively calm.

Meanwhile, Ghana has so far recorded some 408 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus.
