Ghanaian sensation Jeremie Frimpong's future at Celtic could be in doubt as several English sides are reported to be on his heels.

Frimpong has been a revelation at the Parkhead since joining from English side Manchester City last year.

The Dutch-born right-back is hugely expected to extend his stay with the Hoops following his brilliant output.

But according to former Rangers FC defender Alan Hutton, Celtic could be beaten to the 19-year-old's signature as multiple English clubs are showing interest in him.

Asked by Football Insider if there were going to be clubs in England circling Parkhead for Frimpong, Hutton said: “Oh, 100 per cent. That’s the scouts for you – in Scottish football they look far and wide, whether it be young players in youth teams or experienced players."

“That’s the way you have to be. You can find some diamonds in the rough and I think Rangers and Celtic have done very well over the past few years with them."

“He’s definitely one for the future, he’s very, very young, an exciting talent who’s only going to get better.”

Frimpong has played 19 times for Celtic this season, his first goal came against Aberdeen in just his second league start.
