The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Old Tafo Constituency, Mr. Moses Donkor has rubbished claims by the party’s vigilante group Delta Force that their Member of Parliament Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei has done nothing for them in the area since the party assumed power

“I Chairman and the entire constituency and polling station executives would like to condemn in no certain terms the unwarranted and reckless act at a general meeting by this group who tag themselves as delta force in the constituency”. He said in a press statement copied to MyNewsGh.com.

To the chairmen and his executives of the constituency, Dr. Akoto Osei has done a lot and needs to be appreciated rather than castigated and attacked

They listed some of his achievements as; Under employment he indicated that over 350 persons were engaged by NABCO, Youth in Community Police – 137, Youth in afforestation 150 Projects, three mechanized boreholes for three SHS in the constituency, three toilet facilities, Renovation of Old Tafo Central Mosque And the least building of new Central Mosque.

According to NPP executives in the Constituency, considering the great work the Minister of Monitoring and Elevation has done for them, there is no need for any member to complain.

What Happened at the NPP meeting of the constituency?

In a video MyNewsGh.com sighted indicates that members of the NPP vigilante group, Delta Force pounced on constituents of the party, beating and causing chaos at the said meeting.

According to sources, Dr. Akoto Osei who was their target at the meeting was whisked away amidst threats on his life from the aggrieved youths.

The party’s Constituency Organizer of the area Samuel Afoakwa earlier described the attack as “100% justifiable”.

The youth (Delta Force) claim Dr. Akoto Osei had not fulfilled a promise made to them during the campaign time in the 2016 general election to get them jobs should the NPP win power.

They have said the minister has refused to answer their call since the party came to power.

However, many opinion groups condemned the act but the question is, can the NPP government and other political parties ban such groups in the country?
