Ghanaian forward David Accam made his debut for Nashville SC as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Atlanta United in their Major League season opener at home on Saturday.

Atlanta United spoiled the party on a historic night in Nashville SC's first-ever MLS match, with goals from Ezequiel Barco and Emerson Hyndman securing them all three points at Nissan Stadium.

Walker Zimmerman bagged the equaliser for Nashville in the 28th minute to pull the home side level following Barco's opener, but Hyndman's sublime finish in the 37th minute was enough to hand the visitors the win.

The 29-year-old Ghanaian was substituted in the 66th minute of the game.

He joined Nashville SC from Columbus Crew SC in exchange for $450,000 in allocation money ($350,000 in General Allocation Money and $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money), effective on January 1, 2020.

Nashville SC is Accam's fourth team he has featured in the MLS, having enjoyed his best season with Chicago Fire in the 2017 season where he scored 14 goals.
