A lady Disc Jockey from Damongo capital of the Savannah Region but based in the United States Of America Miss Sofo Khadija a.k.a DeeJay Khaddy has advised the people of the Savannah Region to adhere to the basic principles of prevention against the deadly COVID-19 that is killing a lot of people worldwide.

Speaking exclusively to Bole based Nkilgi FM from New Jersey in the United States of America, DeeJay Khaddy said many people have lost their lives through this deadly disease which she said is primarily transmitted between people through respiratory droplets and contact routes and therefore advised the people of the Savannah Region, her place of birth and Ghana as a whole to make sure they always clean their hands more often using soap and running water and also get used to the hand sanitizers.

She again advised the people in the region to distance themselves from anyone who is coughing or sneezing since that will help in preventing the spread of the disease and further advised the touching of eyes, nose and mouth and always covering the nose and mouth bent ones bent elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing.

DeeJaa Khaddy said her main worry is the social distancing preventive measure which she appealed to the people in the Savannah region to adhere to.

She said it is a common practice in the region to see people gather during funeral, naming and wedding ceremonies which she said must be limited for now since keeping space between you and others is one of the best tools we have to avoid being exposed to this virus and slowing its spread locally, across the country and the world.

She added that the people in the region must limit close contact with others outside their household in indoor and outdoor spaces.

Deejay Khaddy advised that since people can spread the virus before they know they are sick, it is important to stay away from others when possible, even if they have no symptoms of the disease and went further to admonish the people, especially in the Savannah Region not to hesitate in seeking medical attention if any of them have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing.

She said she is very happy that the Savannah Region has so far not recorded a single case and very optimistic that by the grace of Allah no case will be recorded in the region and coronavirus will soon become a thing of the past worldwide.
