Chiefs applaud President for solid performance

President Akufo-Addo President Akufo-Addo

Two Paramount Chiefs in the Central Region have applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the strong performance his government.

They said barely two-years into its first term of office, the achievements of his administration had been remarkable.

Nana Kojo Kondua XI, Omanhen of Edina, and Nana Kojo Kru II, Omanhen of Komenda Traditional Areas, added that, the President was delivering on the campaign promises he made to the people.

They singled out for mention, the implementation of the free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

The chiefs made the commendation at separate durbars at Elmina and Komenda in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality held to welcome the President to their areas.

The chiefs were united in their conviction that the youth needed to be empowered with knowledge and skills to make their lives meaningful to themselves and society.

President Akufo-Addo on Friday began a four-day tour of the region to inspect ongoing development projects and to engage with the people, get to know their concerns and felt needs.

Nana Conduah rallied all to support to the government in the implementation of its development agenda.

He said it was in everybody’s interest that the free SHS and other policies rolled out by the government to create wealth and jobs became successful.

He called for the government to do more to deepen public education - help the people to identify with the various policy interventions – to own them.

He said the anxiety of some people about the double track education system, for example, had been due largely to lack of public education and broader engagement with key stakeholders.

This was what created uncertainty and doubt in the minds of some parents and children.

He reminded parents to take proper care of their children, especially the young girls, to ensure that they made the right choices and decisions.

"We will always remember you for introducing free education. It has eased the financial burden on parents. They can now reinvest their resources into other productive ventures to sustain themselves. We are grateful."

“The people of Komenda will always pray for God's strength and mercies to continue the marvellous work you are doing.

We are highly impressed with your sterling performance since you took over the governance of the country." Nana Kru said.
